The healing of the sick in Malta

 Acts 28:6-10

Not only was Paul protected from the snake; he also was able to pray for people's healing and they were healed!  This happened initially because of the hospitality of the folks in Malta and it continued.

Lord Jesus, please help us to have two way relationships where we can give and receive.  Thank You for what You did for Paul and the group of prisoners he was travelling with.  Help us not to undermine folks who have had different experience than our own.  Instead help us to stay focused on You and show us how to be useful to others like Paul was, even though he was a prisoner.  Lord Jesus, may Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Amen

The Holy Spirit comes

  Act 2:1-4 Jesus said He had to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come.  I have a theory that while Jesus walked the earth He had the Holy Spirit all to Himself but on the day of Pentecost (as described here) the Spirit was released on all the disciples that were gathered together.  It was a spectacular event with wind and what looked to be tongues of fire and what made it unique is they could speak in other languages. Lord Jesus, please help us to communicate with those that speak other languages.  I know You separated us by our languages because we were trying to be like god but at Pentecost You united us again.  Help us to remember You are God and we are just Your servants so You can use us to increase Your Kingdom.  Amen
