Paul's charges are introduced to Festus

 Acts 25:1-5

Festus goes to Jerusalem to check out the charges against Paul but still the Jews are planning to ambush and kill Paul.  Festus protects him by keeping him in prison.

Lord Jesus, I pray for the women who are incarcerated with the men claiming to be women!  Jail isn't a safe place for them like it was for Paul. Please show us what we can do about it.  And Lord, for those folks who feel safer in prison than on the streets please provide for them what they need to live as healthy members of society.  Lord, this world needs You; especially when we see how religious people treat people who believe differently than them; like in Paul's case.  We invite You into this world through Your Holy Spirit.  In Your mighty name.

The Holy Spirit comes

  Act 2:1-4 Jesus said He had to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come.  I have a theory that while Jesus walked the earth He had the Holy Spirit all to Himself but on the day of Pentecost (as described here) the Spirit was released on all the disciples that were gathered together.  It was a spectacular event with wind and what looked to be tongues of fire and what made it unique is they could speak in other languages. Lord Jesus, please help us to communicate with those that speak other languages.  I know You separated us by our languages because we were trying to be like god but at Pentecost You united us again.  Help us to remember You are God and we are just Your servants so You can use us to increase Your Kingdom.  Amen
