Even a member of the Areopagus became a follower of Jesus

Acts 17:34 

This is great news, even a member o the Areopagus became a believer.  The good news of Jesus is for everyone.  Those in positions of authority, the rich, the poor, the young, the old...everyone.  I wonder why some people are mentioned by name and other are not; no matter, we have a rich heritage of Jewish and Greek believers.

Lord Jesus, thank You for making Your good news available to everyone who wants to receive it.  Help us to grow Your Kingdom of peace and love, compassion and forgiveness.  Amen

The Holy Spirit comes

  Act 2:1-4 Jesus said He had to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come.  I have a theory that while Jesus walked the earth He had the Holy Spirit all to Himself but on the day of Pentecost (as described here) the Spirit was released on all the disciples that were gathered together.  It was a spectacular event with wind and what looked to be tongues of fire and what made it unique is they could speak in other languages. Lord Jesus, please help us to communicate with those that speak other languages.  I know You separated us by our languages because we were trying to be like god but at Pentecost You united us again.  Help us to remember You are God and we are just Your servants so You can use us to increase Your Kingdom.  Amen
