When life is good

 Acts 6:5-7

It doesn't get better than this; folks agreed with the leaders plan.  Spirit filled people were found to wait on tables and they were prayed over.  The good news of Jesus was spread.  The number of disciples increased and priest became obedient to the faith.

Lord Jesus; what a celebration!  When everything is working in God's Kingdom. Jesus, I ask for this again.  Unify us, bless us, grow us, so that others may see and join us and glorify You.

The Holy Spirit comes

  Act 2:1-4 Jesus said He had to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come.  I have a theory that while Jesus walked the earth He had the Holy Spirit all to Himself but on the day of Pentecost (as described here) the Spirit was released on all the disciples that were gathered together.  It was a spectacular event with wind and what looked to be tongues of fire and what made it unique is they could speak in other languages. Lord Jesus, please help us to communicate with those that speak other languages.  I know You separated us by our languages because we were trying to be like god but at Pentecost You united us again.  Help us to remember You are God and we are just Your servants so You can use us to increase Your Kingdom.  Amen
