Lies

Acts 6:11-14 

Stephen was effective.  He waited on tables and he preached and satan didn't like it! So the father of all lies got people to tell lies about Stephen!

Lord Jesus, please help us to recognize the tactics of the enemy and help us to listen to You instead.  Then give us the courage to obey the next little thing You tell us to do.  And Father, I pray for the persecuted church.  They need You just now.  Please don't let their suffering go to waste.  Bring revival and help us as Canadians to not take You and the freedom You have given us for granted. Amen

The Holy Spirit comes

  Act 2:1-4 Jesus said He had to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come.  I have a theory that while Jesus walked the earth He had the Holy Spirit all to Himself but on the day of Pentecost (as described here) the Spirit was released on all the disciples that were gathered together.  It was a spectacular event with wind and what looked to be tongues of fire and what made it unique is they could speak in other languages. Lord Jesus, please help us to communicate with those that speak other languages.  I know You separated us by our languages because we were trying to be like god but at Pentecost You united us again.  Help us to remember You are God and we are just Your servants so You can use us to increase Your Kingdom.  Amen
